6. Cookies & Analytics
Nothing is collected until you choose. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you consent to analytics. Until you accept, no analytics scripts load and no identifier is stored on your device. If you decline, none of the tools below ever run.
If you accept, we use Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, PostHog and Vercel Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, and our own first-party analytics to understand how people play The Journey.
For the story game we store a random identifier in your browser and record which chapters you reach, whether you finish, and whether you share or save the completion card. We do not store your IP address or browser user agent. If you subscribe to the newsletter from the game, that identifier is associated with your email address, so we can see which parts of the story lead people to subscribe.
Gameplay records are deleted after 12 months. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Privacy settings” link in the site footer, and you can ask us to delete your gameplay records and unlink them from your subscription by contacting us.
